PAU-College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri located near Balachaur, District S.B.S. Nagar, Punjab is the youngest college of the six constituent colleges of Punjab Agricultural University. The College was established at its present site in the year 2021. PAU already had Regional Research Station at this place since 1982 to cater the research needs of Kandi region of Punjab. This College offers B.Sc. Agri. (Hons) 4-year degree programme. The college has highly qualified and competent faculty members with specializations in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Agro-meteorology, Agro-forestry, Agriculture Economics, Agriculture Extension, Entomology, Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Animal Science, Floriculture, Food Science Engineering, Farm Power and Machinery, Soil & Water Engineering, Computer Science and Basic Sciences. Job avenues for agricultural graduates exist in Banking Sector, Seed Production Companies, Agrochemical Industry, Food Processing Industry, Biotechnological Laboratories etc. The graduates can also get employment as Agricultural Development Officers and Soil Conservation Officers with State Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Soil & Water Conservation and in various autonomous bodies like IFFCO, KRIBHCO, Markfed etc. They can be successful entrepreneurs. The students with interest in academics can go for higher studies (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) in India and abroad.
