The NSS Unit of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, PAU observed NSS Day on 24th September 2025 by organizing a One Day Awareness Programme to make students aware about the “Cultural, Sports and Academic Activities under Society for Advancement of Academics, Sports and Cultural Activities (SAASCA).” The programme was aimed at sensitizing students towards the holistic development opportunities provided under SAASCA and motivating them to actively participate in co-curricular engagements. During the awareness programme, NSS volunteers were introduced to various cultural, sports, and academic activities that foster creativity, discipline, and overall personality development. The event was jointly coordinated and supervised by Dr. Lavjit Kaur, Assistant Professor of Sociology, and Dr. Anna Goyal, Mycologist (Mushroom), Programme Officers of COBS&H, under the guidance of Dr. Harmeet Singh Saralch, Programme Coordinator of PAU. On this occasion, the programme officers highlighted that exposure to such platforms broadens the outlook of volunteers and strengthens the spirit of NSS, motivating them to become active contributors to campus life. Around 130 students participated in this awareness program and prepared the poster on the NSS day. The observance of NSS Day thus provided students with an opportunity to align themselves with the objectives of SAASCA while upholding the NSS motto “Not Me, But You.”
