PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur, organized a five-day vocational training course on beekeeping from 24 to 30-9-2025. This training was especially organized for the personnel of Border Security Force.
Associate Director (Training), PAU-KVK Hoshiarpur, Dr. Maninder Singh Bons, inaugurated the training programme and explained the pivotal role of beekeeping in skill development and rural empowerment. He also shed light on farmer welfare activities of KVK.
Experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, imparted theoretical and practical knowledge concerning seasonal management of bee hives, insect pest and disease management strategies, honey extraction techniques, products other than honey, significance of migratory beekeeping and beekeeping economics during this training while Assistant Professor (Home Science), Dr. Sukhdeep Kaur, discussed about health benefits of honey and its processing.
The BSF personnel had hands on training on checking of beehives and their general maintenance at Subsidiary Training Centre, BSF camp, Kharkan and at PAU-KVK Hoshiarpur. |
